CPR, a life saving skill, can easily be learned in a few hours. A combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths are given to people that have stopped breathing and no longer have a pulse. These techniques buy time for the individual until more advanced help arrives at the scene of an emergency.
Carlinville Area Hospital will be offering a CPR class for Healthcare Providers. This program is designed for healthcare professionals, emergency service workers and first responders. This program is designed for students that are currently certified in CPR at the Healthcare Provider level and need to renew their certification or for students who are seeking to become certified at the Healthcare Provider level. The class will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 in the Conference Room located on the lower level of the Hospital. The class will last approximately 3 hours starting at 7:30 a.m. and a second class will begin at 6 p.m. Cost of the program will be $12 per participant.
