CAH Recognizes National Medical Laboratory Week

National Medical Laboratory Week, April 23-29, is a time to honor the more than 280,000 medical laboratory professionals across the nation who perform and interpret laboratory tests that save lives and keep people healthy.  The Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and the Phlebotomist at Carlinville Area Hospital are among the many laboratory professionals making a difference.

Laboratory professionals help to prevent disease by detecting unknown health problems and by aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of existing conditions by giving accurate, timely test results.  The laboratory test results are vital to the diagnosis and treatment of illness and disease.

Results of laboratory tests often identify the presence of disease in its earliest stages, when the possibilities of a cure are greatest and when treatment is least costly.

For more information about National Medical Laboratory Week or the laboratory services offered at Carlinville Area Hospital, call 217-854-3141 and ask for Karen Tople, Head of Laboratory
