Jon E. Andersen, DO, has joined the staff of Carlinville Area Hospital as a General Surgeon. Dr. Andersen comes to Carlinville from Weber Medical Clinic in Olney and will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. He is Board Certified with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
Dr. Andersen received his Osteopathic Physician Degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1983. He completed his general surgery residency at Brentwood Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. He spent 12 years as a staff surgeon in Ohio and has currently been with Weber Medical Clinic in Olney since July, 2000.
Dr. Andersen is available for general surgery procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopy, excision of lesions, biopsy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, tubal ligation, hysterectomy, vasectomy, mastectomy, and appendectomy.
Dr. Andersen participates with Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, HealthLink, CIGNA, Beechstreet, and Great West Health. Credentialing with other major insurance carriers is in progress.
