Carlinville Area Hospital to offer CPR Class

CPR, a life saving skill, can easily be learned in a few hours. A combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths are given to people that have stopped breathing and no longer have a pulse. These techniques buy time for the individual until more advanced help arrives at the scene of an emergency.

Carlinville Area Hospital will be offering a CPR class for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association. This program is designed for healthcare professionals, emergency service workers and first responders. This program is designed for students that are currently certified in CPR at the Healthcare Provider level and need to renew their certification or for students who are seeking to become certified at the Healthcare Provider level. The class will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 7:30 am or 6 pm in the Conference Room located on the lower level of the Hospital. Cost of the program will be $12 per participant. The classes will be limited to the first 10 people. To register, call Tracy Koster at 217-854-3832.
