Centralized Scheduler

Admitting Department

The Centralized Scheduler is a full time, non-exempt position that is responsible for the pre-certifications and scheduling of hospital services for patients when physician’s orders are internal, telephoned, faxed or brought in by the patient. Duties include, but are not limited to, obtaining insurance authorizations; patient pre-registrations; verifying the diagnosis provided and test orders meet Medicare Coverage Policy prior to scheduling in an effort to reduce denials by Medicare.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
