Carlinville Area Hospital welcomed a new service this summer when the Interventional Pain Management Clinic opened its doors.
Interventional Pain Management is the discipline of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of pain-related disorders. The pain management team concentrates on the application of interventional techniques in managing sub-acute, chronic, persistent and intractable pain. Common causes or types of pain include headaches, neck and back pain, hip and shoulder pain, sciatica, and joint pain.
Patients who suffer from chronic pain or pain that affects their quality of life and the ability to participate in normal activities can benefit from pain management.
