Carlinville Area Hospital Welcomes New Physician to the Community

Carlinville Area Hospital is proud to welcome August Adams, MD to their staff. Dr. Adams will begin seeing patients on August 1, 2016 through the Carlinville Family Health Care Rural Health Clinic located in the new Medical Office Building.

“I have long considered coming to Carlinville. I am a Blackburn College graduate and always enjoyed my time in the community,” said Adams. “My wife, Clare, is from the area as well and has family living in Carlinville. We have three children, Finn, Ella and Luna ages 15, 13, and 3 years old.” Dr. Adams plans on living in Carlinville and is looking forward to being part of the community. “Carlinville is unique in that it offers all the benefits of small town living, yet there are a great deal of things available here for local families. A wonderful K-12 school system and local college, growing faith-based youth programs, plenty of things for our children (parks, pool, karate, dance, theater, bowling, etc.) and many community organizations that benefit great causes,” said Adams.

“Dr. Adams’ experience will be a great asset to our rural health clinic. We are certain our patients will appreciate the expertise and commitment Dr. Adams brings to our clinic”, said Ken Reid, CAH CEO.

Dr. Adams is a graduate of the University of Illinois School of Medicine and completed his residency training at St. Louis University. He is board certified in family medicine and trained to see patients from infant to geriatric, both for chronic and acute conditions. Dr. Adams will be located in the new Medical Office Building at 20613 North Broad. He is accepting new patients and appointments can be made by calling 217-854-3881.
