Carlinville Area Hospital announces the opening of a new program for citizens coping with life issues relating to the senior years. The SELF (Seniors Enjoying Life Fully) Program is located in the hospital’s new medical office building.
The SELF program offers individualized care in a warm, supportive environment and assists our elderly patients who are experiencing behavioral problems related to the normal aging process. The program, which has been under development for the past several months, is unique for this region and will serve all the surrounding counties.
“Most depression and other emotional illnesses in older citizens are treatable, especially if dealt with early”, said Sara McPeak, Nursing Director.
In addition to improving a senior’s outlook on life, the new therapy service also helps individuals to better care for themselves and follows their primary care physician’s directions toward overall better health.
“This new program is another example of how Carlinville Area Hospital continues to expand our services for the growing needs of the communities we serve”, said Ken Reid, Hospital CEO.
