Carlinville Area Hospital’s new Outpatient Therapy Department is over 7000 square feet and provides Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy.

The area has 5 private treatment rooms one of which is a large pediatric room with sensorimotor area and swing, a school desk for handwriting, posture, and education and various teaching toys/ I-pad.  Another treatment room is dedicated for Lymphedema patients.

Our physical therapists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. Our specially trained physical therapists will evaluate you and develop a specific treatment plan based on their assessment. One-on-one treatment sessions with our methods, equipment and techniques will enhance your healing and aid in reducing your risk of re-injury. Physical therapists work with all ages and ability levels.

Our large gym houses several new pieces of cardio and strength training equipment.   The Lifespan Medical treadmill is capable of uphill to 15%, downhill to 3%, forward and backward and a slow starting speed for all populations.  Adjustable safety handrails and 500# capacity make this treadmill very accommodating.

Also new is the Shuttle system for total body rehab, high level plyometric and leg press activities for sports training. The shuttle can also be utilized in rehab for joint replacements and progressive weight bearing.

A commercial functional trainer and plate loaded leg press compliment strength training goals. Fluid upper body ergometer, upright and recumbent bikes, Octane elliptical and Versa Climber will all be available for full body conditioning depending on a patient’s needs and fitness levels.
