CAH&C and MFPC Set Future Path Together

Two trusted healthcare providers, Macoupin Family Practice Centers and Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics, took bold and significant steps together this week to secure the long-term of quality healthcare providers across Macoupin County and the surrounding areas. The two parties executed a Letter of Intent which provides the agreed upon framework by which CAH&C will acquire MFPC, owned by Dr. Bruce Weber and Dr. Brian Quarton. The three MFPC locations in Carlinville, Gillespie, and Mt. Olive will become part of the CAH&C Clinic System once agreements are finalized later this year.

MFPC has built a strong reputation for serving patients throughout the area over the years. Dr. Weber has practiced in Macoupin County for 41 years. Dr. Quarton, a graduate of Carlinville High School, has provided medical care to patients in this area for three decades. MFPC has also built a strong team of other professionals, including Wayne Blevins, PA-C, Holly Trettenero, FNP, Jason Manthei, PA-C, Morgan Grothaus, FNP-C, Sam Noeth, PMHNP-C, and the rest of its clinical and support staff. “We’ve been focused every day on doing our best for the patients who trust us with their care”, said Dr. Weber.

Throughout the process of exploring this opportunity together, the two organizations have recognized many areas of alignment. “CAH&C has made many advancements over the past five years. We believe that the direction the hospital is headed is favorable for our patients and the community,” said Dr. Quarton. Both physicians acknowledge the strong team at CAH&C and expressed that the MFPC staff will benefit from CAH&C’s positive employee culture.

Upon completion of this transaction, CAH&C will have medical practices in Virden, Girard, Carlinville, Gillespie and Mt. Olive.

The mutually signed Letter of Intent is significant as it provides a path forward. The agreement will be finalized after a period of further due diligence and the signing of the official, Definitive Agreements. Both parties are seeking to celebrate an official close by the end of calendar year 2026 but are working to attempt to accomplish all the necessary steps much earlier than that. Macoupin County residents can rest assured that two trusted healthcare providers are working together in the interest of future access to quality care.
