Walk-in Clinics

Dial 911 in a medical emergency.

The Walk-in Clinics at Carlinville Family Health Care and Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics – Virden are an affordable and convenient alternative to the Emergency Room for non-life-threatening medical issues.

You do not have to be an established patient at Carlinville Family Health Care or the Virden Clinic to take advantage of these convenient services. Once your visit is complete, you can return to your primary care provider or establish care with a provider at either clinic. Best of all, you only pay the regular office visit co-pay. This cost is typically less than an urgent care visit and much less than an emergency room visit. Most insurance plans and networks are accepted.

Common reasons for visiting our walk-in clinics include:

  • Colds and flus
  • Sprains and strains
  • Fevers
  • Bug bites
  • Minor burns and lacerations
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Ear and eye infections
  • Skin rashes and infections

Note: The Walk-In Clinics do not manage chronic pain conditions and will not refill any narcotic prescriptions
